Hip Hop Dance
Hip-hop dance is a high energy street dance style primarily performed to hip-hop music and incorporating urban culture. It includes a wide range of styles including breaking, locking, and popping. First introduced by dance crews in the '70s, it gained mainstream exposure and the dance industry created a commercial, studio version of it. Although it maintains a strong presence in urban neighborhoods, it is now practiced and incorporated into choreography in both dance studios and outdoor spaces.
