Classes

The Dancer’s Studio offers classes in all styles of dance.  Designed to develop well-rounded young dancers we encourage our students to train in multiple styles.  Our class levels are structured upon the dancers’ technique and ability to ensure every student is receiving training appropriate for them.

Acro

Acro dance combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.  It incorporates gymnastic skills into the dance art form.  Dancers may begin acro at age seven.

Modern

Modern dance, like ballet, has its own terminology, movements, and technique.  It is an abstract form of ballet that can incorporate both precise placement as well as a more free form expression of dance.  Dancer should be eight years old to begin Modern (Ballet background suggested but not required).

Tap

Tap dance is a synchronized form of dance characterized by using the sound of tap shoes hitting the floor or other surfaces to create a form of music.  The sound is made by shoes with a metal "tap" on the heel and toe.  Tap dance relies heavily on musicality and rhythm.  Tap dance is offered as early as age three.

Hip Hop

Hip-hop is a vibrant form of dance that combines a variety of freestyle movements to create a cultural piece of art. It can bring styles of popping, locking, and breaking together with music.  Hip Hop is an ever evolving style that is rich with history.  Students may begin Hip Hop at seven years old.

Jazz

Jazz dance incorporates the techniques of ballet and sometimes modern dance with current popular dance forms.  It can include isolations of different body parts to full body movements.  Jazz encourages individualism within a larger group style.  Students may begin jazz at seven years old.

Ballet

The Dancer’s Studio recognizes the importance of proper ballet technique.  The vocabulary and skills learned in ballet transfers throughout all styles of dance.  Ballet can be both an elegant and strong art form.  We offer ballet as early as age three.
