Six and Seven year old Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Jazz Combination
Our combination classes are age specific and developmentally designed to engage while preparing students for the first levels of a formal dance education. Groups are small in size so that each child gets individualized attention and feedback.
Classes are designed to be fun while teaching proper technique and form. The classes begin with ballet basics, then tap dance. For the ballet portion, correct French terms are incorporated and demonstrated. In the tap portion, correct steps and basic rhythyms and timing concepts are introduced.
Proper body posture and alignment, eye-hand/eye-foot loco-motor coordination, working effectively with peers, spatial coordination, lengthening attention span, making circles, lines and other group formations.
Basic rhythm is introduced, and self-confidence and a positive body awareness is always emphasized. A positive teacher/student relationship and proper lesson etiquette is introduced and worked on as a preparation for the beginning levels of dance.
Students learn how enjoyable dance is, and how they can express themselves in a positive and constructive manner.
